About us.

The Blackheath Garden Club is a friendly group of local gardeners who share a love of plants, gardens, and the beautiful natural environment of the Blue Mountains. Our members range from experienced gardeners to enthusiastic beginners, all brought together by a shared interest in gardening and a desire to learn from one another.

We meet at the Angilcan Church hall, 2 Hat Hill
Rd, Blackheath at 10.00 am on the first Thursday of each
month for a convivial, low-key gathering where we enjoy hearing interesting speakers on a wide range of green topics.

Our meetings also include a tasty morning tea and a chance to socialise with fellow members. Those who wish can take part in our flower mini show, which adds a splash of colour and creativity to each meeting. The Blackheath area produces truly gorgeous flowers, fruits, vegetables, and other floral, both exotic and native and our members always bring along a splendid and varied display.

Whether you are an experienced gardener or simply enjoy the beauty of plants and gardens, you will find a warm welcome at the Blackheath Garden Club.

Our meetings

The Blackheath Garden Club hosts regular events throughout the year that bring together people who enjoy gardening, plants, mini flower shows and  day trips.

Our monthly meetings are held the Angilcan Church hall, 2 Hat Hill Rd, Blackheath at 10.00 am. on the first Thursday of each month.  These gatherings are friendly and relaxed, and usually feature an engaging guest speaker presenting on a variety of gardening and nature-related topics.

Meetings are also a wonderful opportunity to catch up with fellow members over a delicious morning tea, share gardening ideas, and enjoy the social side of the club.

Members are invited to take part in our  mini flower show,  where flowers, foliage, fruits, vegetables, and other plant material from local gardens are displayed.

The Blackheath area produces an amazing variety of both native and exotic plants, and the displays often reflect the beauty and diversity of our local gardens.

Visitors and new members are always welcome to attend our events and share in the enjoyment of gardening with our friendly community.

First time visitors are invited to attend their first 2 meetings gratis (otherwise each member and visitor pays a small $5.00 contribution for each meeting attended).

Should visitors wish to apply for membership forms are obtainable at our monthly meetings and currently the cost of membership for a financial year is $25.00.

Our morning teas are delicious as we have some generous volunteers who bring plates! Needless to say any volunteer contributions such as baked goods or sandwiches whilst not obligatory are very welcome!

In addition in most months we have a bus tour courtesy of our generous volunteer drive and the community BMCC bus available to members at cost (usually about $25.00). We visit places of interest to gardeners and these outings are most enjoyable as one can sit back and admire the scenery without the need to focus on self driving!
